I have a season ticket and my train is regularly delayed. Can I claim compensation?

For Monthly or longer season tickets, some train operators still operate a form of payment based on average performance over the previous 12 months (i.e. in terms of punctuality and cancellations) and if this falls below the ‘trigger’ level, compensation is due.  However, the calculation of this performance and the trigger levels vary between train companies and routes. Compensation is usually in the form of a discount on the cost of your next season ticket rather than a ‘cash’ payment.

It is best to seek details of what is available from the operator concerned

  • Train
  • Refunds and compensation
