User Group Advice

Working together with local groups

There are many user groups, generally voluntary, which seek to make improvements to public transport in their local area. Transport Focus works with them to aid effective engagement with key industry stakeholders and consultations, and to encourage sharing of best practice.

This area of our website provides resources for these organisations, to support their work in influencing change for passengers. Much of the content here has been developed as a result of workshops with user groups across England, Scotland and Wales, where we have worked together to identify useful resources and ideas.

Please feel free to let us know if you have ideas for developing this area further, via the usual inbox:

Exchange is our newsletter for user groups. This is how we will inform you of our work, as well as key dates and developments in the industry. If you haven’t already subscribed for this, click here to change any subscription preferences.

Our work to reconnect with user groups has shown a desire to share experience and expertise between groups. With this in mind we have created a database which lists each of the groups we are in touch with. This is very much a work in progress, and will be updated regularly. It is split by region and will list the website and a contact email address where we have the information and permission: User Group Directory
